Rally to Oppose War in SLC. October 7th

On October 7th, 2001, the United States began its war and occupation of Afghanistan with the first shot fired in Operation Enduring Freedom. Eleven years later, the cruel irony of that name and the cruel reality of war becomes more and more obvious. New and constant threats are made against millions of people, all subject to intimidation and invasion.

This year, over $500 billion were allocated by Congress for military use (more than half of all fed appropriations).
Lets take a moment to analyze this numbe

r. If a working family of two, let's say you and your spouse, were to make $20 an hour, working 40 hours a week, it would take both of you 60,096 years to save this much money, assuming that you saved every penny.
As citizens of this country, responsible for the deaths of over 2 mil
lion lives since 9/11 (the entire population of Salt Lake City per 2010 census report), we are supporting the atrocities committed in these wars through our income tax contributions.

This anti-war movement, like any other movement can only be successful if we organize as a community.
Help us stand against these acts of violence and to call for an immediate end to U.S. interventions.
Help us spread this message "Hands off the Middle East! Hands off sovereign nations! Troops out now!"
Help us raise awareness that will in itself create the change that is necessary to overcome the current situation.
