Segregation in America Today

Though many suppose that segregation ended with the dismantling of Jim Crow laws during the Civil Rights movement, the facts paint an entirely different picture.
Today Africa-Americans are arrested and sentenced at far higher rates for crimes they are no more likely to commit than their white counter parts.
Once in the penal system they are disenfranchised in ways that strongly resemble, Jim Crow style segregation, The Black Codes and even outright slavery.
At this week's UVU RSU meeting find out how segregation, though dismantled in name, is alive and well in America.

We will be meeting Wednesday the 16th at UVU in room LI505.
